The fair represents the very best British makers, an exhibition with over 500 stands, where buyers and exhibitors alike are inspired by quality, originality and variety of products.
Designer makers who are chosen to exhibit at bctf represent a wide selection of disciplines with a carefully planned balance between established makers and newcomers. They all symbolise the best of British contemporary art and design and without doubt they are instrumental in influencing future trends in the industry.

This is a new venture for me: I’m going to try my luck north of the border. This is another cattle market venue, like the one at Penrith, and is only ten minutes from Perth town centre.

The event is the oldest potters' market in the UK, showing the work of up to 150 potters, and is held under permanent cover at Skirsgill Auction Mart, Penrith - 100 yards west of junction 40 off the M6, on the edge of the Lake District.
This is an open event and as such has a special dynamism with potters of international reputation exhibiting alongside recently graduated students. The result is an exciting mix of the sophisticated, the well established and the raw power of the next generation. Be prepared for visual overload!
